This Instruction: Implements policy, assigns responsibilities, and prescribes procedures for developing and implementing a Department-wide Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and enhancing the security of Department of Defense (DoD) information systems by enabling these systems to use PKI for authentication, digital signatures, and encryption.
