Environmental Assessment for Youth Center and Recreational Vehicle Parking Lot Expansion Project, Buckley Air Force Base, Colorado

PROPOSED ACTION: The USAF proposes to construct a Youth Center and to expand an existing RV parking lot at Buckley APB. The Youth Center and RV Expansion Lot projects would include construction encompassing approximately 8.2 acres of land at two locations within the boundaries of Buckley AFB. The Youth Center project would include construction of a building and landscaped area with a playground. The RV Expansion Lot would include sufficient space to provide storage of large-size RVs. FACTORS CONSIDERED IN DETERMINING THAT NO ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT IS REQUIRED: The Environmental Assessment (EA) analyzed the environmental impacts of alternatives to the proposed action taking into account all relevant environmental resource areas and conditions. The USAF has examined the following resource areas and conditions and found that the proposed action would either have no or inconsequential impact: air quality; expansive soils, hazardous materials, hazardous wastes, socioeconomics, utilities, biological resources, traffic/transportation, water resources, radon, safety and pollution prevention. The proposed action would not have any significant effect on contaminated sites.
