摘要

Testing susceptibility of stainless steels to abiotic sulfide derivitization (10' M) in a chloride containing medium under laboratory conditions was directly related to the types and concentrations of alloying elements. Derivatization decreased in the following order 430 > 304L > 316L > 904L. Laboratory results compared favorably with electrochemical model predictions. Results of the testing and modeling will be used to refine models for the impact of microbiologically produced sulfides on stainless steels.
