The comparatively simple design of the butterfly valve and its relatively slight weight are responsible for its ever-increasing use in the delivery conduits of hydroelectrical plants.nThe main group of butterfly valves, now in use, are provided withna disc or lenticular plate with a spherical lateral surface. Thenlenticular plate is fitted with bosses (of any given diameter d), which hold the bushes of the valve-spindle (fig.1).
