The Fuel and Moisture Resistant Finish for Integral Fuel Tanks developed under Boeing Material Specification 10-39 will: Withstand extreme environmental conditions; Resist all anticipated corrosive agents within the fuel cavity; Protect the integral fuel tank metal substrate from the effects of these agents for the normal life of the aircraft; Provide excellent compatibility with sealant materials as either a primer or sealant topcoat. By virtue of excellent adhesion of sealant material applied over BMS 10-39 coating, aircraft parts can be finished in detail with the BMS 10-39 coating, assembled, and sealant applied directly to the coating. This system will provide the following: Corrosion protection to faying surfaces; Expedite finish application to parts; Provide adequate protection of the metal throughout assembly sequence; Provide optimum corrosion protection of assembled wing structures, and Provide economy of assembly and finish procedures.
