THE USE OFGAMMA RADIOGRAPHY AS A NON-DESTRUCTIVE MEANS OF TESTING CONCRETE STRUCTURAL UNITS

Recent work using gamma radiography for testing structural concrete in the laboratory and on site is discussed. Radio¬graphs showing the location and identification of steel in concrete, grouting and jointing defects, and the condition of concrete are described. The results obtained confirm the usefulness of the method for observing concealed features of reinforced and prestressed concrete.
