Objectives of the present tests were to define shock-response characteristics of the FSP under nonstandard attack configurations, and to evaluate shock measuring instrumentation based on accelerometer transducers rather than the commonly employed velocity transducers. Shock-response data is under analysis and will be the subject of a sub¬sequent report: this report deals with operational and instrumentation aspects, including tabulation of the test geometries, lest configurations, and the installed instruments.nOperations generally proceeded smoothly, although some mechani¬cal damage to the FSP and to the test loads occurred. Instrumentation attrition was substantial: 25 of 44 strain-gage accelerometers. and 8 of 18 velocity meters were damaged beyond immediate repair. In the absence of damage, the strain-gage accelerometers produced velocity records (by integration) which compared well with those of redundantly installed velocity meters.
