The nature of the coding method developed at the institute, lies in the fact that, the numerous data necessary for planning, contained in the blueprint of the detail and in technical assignment, such as data about dimensions, shape, disposition of machined surfaces, form and condition of billet, about the material of the detail, machining accuracy and purity requirements, about the organization and economy of manufacture, as well as a series of other data are presented in form of groups of numbers arranged in definite order in decimal, binary of any other system of calculation.nThe coding method was adopted as unified for any given machine construction details: bodies of rotation - shafts, bushings, disks; housing components - boxes, mounts, frames, plates; levers, shaped details, etc., of any complexity and size. At the same time, the coding method was especially adopted for the planning of aggregate machines and automatic lines, their spindle boxes and general assembly.
