摘要

A high Reynolds number transonic wind tunnel (HIRT) has been needed for some years. The proposed HIRT facility will provide such a tool. The usefulness of the HIRT facility will be largely influenced by the ability of industry to design and build wind tunnel models for an acceptable cost capable of operating within the severe environment of the tunnel. A test plan, which encompasses several critical conditions within the flight envelope, is described for two configurations.
