摘要

A Theoretical model has been developed for predicting the loss of spatial coherence of moderately low frequency acoustic signals (50 to 300 Hz) that results from the presence of a fluctuating temperature field caused by internal waves and by ocean turbulence. The model has been used to estimate limitations on the maximum useful length of a horizontal, linear, phased array the performance of which is degraded by the presence of the fluctuating temperature field.
