A 60 Volts to 48 Volts DC to DC Converter.

To meet the requirements of providing 48 volt power to telephone equipment of U.S. manufacture for installation on sites with 60 volt battery source, the 1842 EEG/EPECW engineers and Prototype Test Facility technicians designed and fabricated a DC to DC converter. This paper describes the theory of operations, technical description, testing and field installation instructions of this converter. The units are intended to replace obsolete 60V-48V counter EMF cells now in use on a one to one basis. (Author)
