摘要

This Technical Report describes a research program conducted jointly by the Science Center, Rockwell International, and TIMET, to study the effects of minor element additions on the mechanical properties of titanium alloys. The effect of additions of Si, Bi, Fe, S and 0 on mechanical properties of a base alloy of composition Ti-6Al-2Sn-2Zr-1Mo have been studied. In this Technical Report final results on tensile, creep, creep stability, alloy partitioning, fatigue, fracture, hot salt stress corrosion, and microstructural characterization of these alloys is presented.
