Ovarian Interstitial Cell Hyperplasia in a Woolly Monkey.

A 6-year-old female woolly monkey (Lagothrix lagothricha) had bilateral interstitial cell hyperplasia of the ovaries. Morphologic features of this case are described and compared to similar observations in owl and squirrel monkeys. This condition is also discussed with respect to hyperplasia and neoplasia of stromal and hilar cell origin in the ovaries of women. (Author)
