Gas Chromatographic Methods for the Analysis of Trace Quantities of GB and Associated Compounds (Demilitarization Effluent,Brine,Dried Salts,Munition Exudates).

A variety of gas chromatographic column systems were studied for a broad area of trace GB analysis. The column packing found best for analyzing GB as well as its light-and heavy-end associated compounds is DC-LSX-3-0295. That found best for GB (as in spray-dried salts,the 'decon'brine,and spray dryer effluent) is EGSS-X. This column is especially useful in the presence of TBA. The sensitivity is of the order of 0.3ng (3x10to-10th power gm) of GB. It was found that conditions could exist where GB will form in the GC coulumn. (Author)
