Proposed Digital Cartridge Recording System for WRELADS.

The present data recording system in WRELADS II uses a hybrid tape recorder. Signal waveforms are recorded in analogue form while system parameters are recorded digitally. The hybrid recording system has several disadvantages that would be overcome by introducing a fully digital recording system. A proposal is described for developing a system to utilise two high-capacity digital cartridge recorders in conjunction with a microprocessor based cartridge controller. (Author)
