Heat acclimated rats gavaged with 5% glycerol solutions equivalent to 4% initial body weight excreted less urine during a 3-h heat exposure than did rats gavaged with the same volume of water. C-glycerol studies describe rapid absorption and distribution of glycerol among body tissues. (Author)
