摘要

The toxicity to freshwater aquatic organisms of three compounds formed during the continuous manufacturing process for 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT) was determined. The compounds were 1,3-dinitrobenzene (DNB), 3,5-dinitroaniline (DiNA), and 1,3,5-trinitrobenzene (TNB). Four species of fish (fathead minnow, rainbow trout, channel catfish, and bluegill), one aquatic invertebrate (Daphnia magna), and one alga (Selenastrum capricornutum) were tested. Emphasis was on determining the threshold levels of toxicity to the species found to be most sensitive to the test materials.
