Longtime Performance of Trussed Rafters with Different Connection Systems

In 1967, the Forest Products Laboratory initiated a study on the longtime performance of trussed rafters with different connection systems. The trussed rafters were loaded and exposed to sheltered outdoor conditions for 5-, 10-, and 15-year periods. After each 5-year period, one trussed rater of each connection system was evaluated in the laboratory. Strength and stiffness was compared to a control trussed rafter tested at the program's beginning. Results after 5 and 10 years have been reported previously. This paper contains the results from all three periods.
