摘要

Observations have been made of transitions in the 5 to 8 micrometer region of the infrared from emissions from a recombining oxygen plasma. Assignments have been made for transitions in this region using experimental and calculated energy level positions. The strongest feature occurs at 7.45 micrometer and is assigned as a composite line dominated by 6h3,5H-5g3,5G and 6g3,5G-5f3,5F at 7.450 and 7.426 micrometer respectively. This is the first experimental observation of the oxygen atom 6h3,5H state.
