Examination of the Factors That Affect Student Performance in the First Graduate Accounting Course Taken at the Naval Postgraduate School

摘要

The purpose of this study was to examine various factors in a student's background and investigate how they affect the student's performance in the first accounting courses taken at the Naval Postgraduate School. An understanding of these factors could enable future students to perform better academically. this understanding could also prove useful i the screening process used to select Naval Officers for study in Administrative Sciences at the Naval Postgraduate School. The findings indicate that undergraduate grade-point average, prior accounting course work, and prior financial management work experience are the most important influences on success in accounting courses at NPS.
