摘要

Most neurosecretory cell types in fully engorged female Hyalomma dromedarii synganglion showed a decrease in cell and nucleus size and in quantity of neurosecretory material when compared with those in mated, semifed female ticks. The results suggest that their activity compared with those in mated, semifed female ticks. The results suggest that their activity is probably associated with body growth, blood meal digestion and early oogenesis. Cells whose size and content do not change until the end of feeding probably participate in regulating the physiological processes associated with transition into a free-living existence and with oviposition. The cell types showing changes in size and/or neurosecretory material form, distribution, and quantity occurred in the protocerebral, cheliceral, palpal, pedal, opisthosomal and postoesophageal centers.
