摘要

This book chapter describes three possible mechanisms by which the electrical properties or interactions of neurons can contribute to or possibly account for several aspects of potentiation in the brain. These are: progressive spike invasion, electronic coupling and electrical field effects. These processes may mediate potentiation of neuronal events completely independent of chemical synaptic transmission. Reprints. (KT)
