XBT (Expendable Bathythermographs) and XSV (Expendable Sound Velocimeters) Data from the Gulf of Cadiz Expedition: R/V Oceanus Cruise 202.

Temperatured profiles form expendable bathythermographs (XBTs) and sound speed profiles form expendable sound velocimeters (XSVs) were obtained form expendable sound velocimeters (XSVs) were obtained during leg 1 of the Gulf of Cadiz Expedition, 4-19 September 1988, from R/V Oceanus. XBTs and XSVx were deployed around Ampere Seamount and Cape St. Vincent, Portugal. Salinity profiles have been calculated from simultaneously dropped pairs of XBTs and XSVs. This report describes the instrumentation used, discusses data acquisition and processing methods, and presents temperature, sound speed, and salinity profiles.
