HPCL Invites Bids for Feasibility Study Of Visakhapatnam Refinerv/PC Project

Mumbai— Hindustan Petroleum Corp. Ltd. (HPCL) has invited bids from consultants interested in conducting a detailed feasibility study for the proposed greenfield refinery and petrochemicals project at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India (PCN, 22-29 Aug 2011, p 3). The project, to be built as part of the Petroleum, Chemicals and Petrochemicals Investment Region, was originally planned as a joint venture with GAIL, Oil India, Total and Mittal Investments to build a 15-million-t/y refinery and a 1-million-t/y petrochemical facility. Total and Mittal later withdrew their participation, putting the project on hold.
