Chemtura Declines Comment on Reports Of Talks with Blaekstone and Apollo

Middleburv- Chemtura Corp. last week declined to comment on published reports that it is in talks with Blaekstone Group and Apollo Management for the sale of Chemtura. When asked to confirm reports, Chemtura reiterated its December 2007 announcement that it was "exploring strategic alternatives" for the company (PCN, 24-31 Dec 07, p 3). "We have made no further announcements regarding this exploration," the company added.
