RIL Renaming Hualon Assets Recron; Acquisition to be Finalized 'Shortly'

Mumbai-Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL) said it has selected Recron Malaysia as the name for the polyester assets it is acquiring from Hualon Corp. of Malaysia (PCN, 17 Sept 07, p 3). The acquisition, "which is expected to be consummated shortly," will increase RIL's polyester capacity 25% to a total of 2.5-million t/y and will consolidate the company's position as the "world's larsrest Dolvester manufacturer." RIL added.
