EPA faces suit seeking ban on chlorpyrifos

Farmworker advocates and environmentalists filed suit last week in a bid to ban agricultural uses of chlorpyrifos,an organophosphate insecticide used on corn,cotton,almond and fruit trees.The suit,filed July 31 in the U.S.District Court for the Northern District of California,alleges EPA is failing to protect the health of farmworkers and children by allowing continued use of chlorpyrifos.
