I was most interested to observe that the 1959 voyage from Louisiana to London by Methane Pioneer, the first ever ocean shipment of LNG, featured twice in the article 'Seizing opportunities' by Sir Frank Chapman in the August 2012 issue of Petroleum Review. A possibly worthwhile addition to Sir Frank's discourse is that over the entire period since that initial shipment there has been no recorded loss of life or serious injury in LNG transportation by sea which,' by now, is on an enormous scale.
