The pressure measuring instrument used for the aforementioned experiments can be used to help positioning the cannule. The technique for a reliable punctuation of the navicular bursa as described above is well applicable in practice. The results of this study show that the pressure in the navicular bursa decreases after some time. It can also be observed that the strength of the load has no meaningful consequence on the pressure in the navicular bursa. The absence of an increase of the pressure in the bursa of all extremities under a load of 1 kN and 2 kN could be explained by very small amounts of synofial fluid in the bursa and the lack of physiological traction in the deep digital flexor tendon. The mess of fluence that can be injected into the navicular bursa varies from limb to limb (between 1 to 10 ml).
