China:CNOOC tempts foreigners with 10 new blocks

TEN NEW offshore oil and gas blocks have been offered for explo-ration and development to foreign companies this year by China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC),as the company attempts to boost oil and gas production over the next five years.A statement issued by CNOOC last month said the blocks cover more than 66,000 square km in the Bohai Sea,Yellow Sea,East China Sea and South China Sea,with water depths ranging from 10 to 200 metres.
