China’s CNOOC offers offshore blocks

Chinese state-controlled oil firm CNOOC has issued its first offshore licensing round for the year, inviting foreign firms to bid for 33 blocks mainly in the South and East China Seas. It is unclear if the blocks overlap any disputed territory, but 25 of the blocks are located in the South China Sea with 17 blocks in the Pearl river mouth basin, two in the Beibu Gulf, five in the Qiong Dong Nan basin and one in the Yinggehai basin.
