The Iraqi parliament’s unanimous support for a wave of anti-corruption reforms could bring more uncertainty to oil companies’ activities in the country and threatens further project delays. But prime minister Haidar al-Abadi’s plan for sweeping reforms has been widely welcomed in the country. He will abolish the senior posts of vice-president and deputy prime minister. His predecessor Nouri al-Maliki is among those who will lose his government job.
