Australian upstream independent Santos plans to reduce its workforce by about 200, mostly at its Adelaide headquarters, as it targets A$100mn ($73mn) in cost savings from a reorganisation of its operations in eastern Australia. The plans come after the company said in August that it would cut 565 positions, reduce capital expenditure by 55pc and lower unit production costs by 11pc because of the fall in energy prices since mid-2014.
