BP steps into Baghdad’s row with the KRG

BP has entered a continuing dispute between Baghdad and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) over con-trol of territory and oil in northern Iraq. The KRG claims as unconstitutional an 18-month technical assistance agree-ment awarded by Iraq’s federal govern-ment to BP to stabilise output at Iraq’s northern Kirkuk field, as well as prepa-ration of a redevelopment plan.
