Lukoil’s profit drops on impairments

Russian private-sector oil firm Lukoil’s 2015 profit fell by 26pc on the year to 291bn roubles ($4.3bn), as oil price-driven impairment charges and higher operating costs offset a 4pc rise in revenue. The company’s revenue was boosted by an increase in production and the depreciation of the rouble against the dollar, which compensated for the fall in oil prices.
