Jumping on bed, mother hears screaming, patient on floor holding left foot.

This 2-year-old girl was jumping on her bed and having a good time. The mother was in another room, but then, all of a sudden, she heard the patient screaming. The mother went running to the room and found the patient on the floor holding her left foot. The mother said that there was no swelling, redness, or pain, but the patient was holding her left foot. Because of this, the mother brought her to our Urgent Care Clinic (UCC).Upon arrival, the patient was in no acute distress. Her physical examination generally was normal except that related to the musculoskeletal system. In this regard, she moved all extremities equally with a full range of motion including the left ankle joint. She showed mild swelling of the left foot in the region of the metatarsals, but there was no real tenderness. The skin was warm, but there were no bruises.
