￡10m donation will build Aberdeen hospital car park

Aberdeen Royal Infirmary looks set to receive a new multi-storey car park following a donation of ￡10m by a businessman. The sum, pledged by The Wood Foundation is one of the largest single charitable donations ever made to the NHS in Scotland. The Wood Foundation, set up by Scottish businessman Sir Ian Wood and his family, was founded in 2007 to invest in economic, community and enterprise initiatives that develop and support individuals to become caring and contributing members of society. Sir Ian made his fortune in oil exploration.
