It is nothing new that we lament the lack of young engineers. Reports of engineers on the lookout for work are a legend of days long gone by. University professors receive unanswerable numbers of enquiries from industry desiring to know how many young engineers will shortly be qualified to leave the university for work. Post graduate positions are waiting to be filled by qualified young scientists. But where are they to be found? Insufficient training in scientific-technological subjects in schools is hardly suitable to kindle enthusiasm for technology. Technology working within modern products is no longer visible from the outside. The consequence is that technology is no longer communicated. In order to deal with this situation universities and associations have already thought up many activities and put these into action. But even modern media such as the internet still include a lot of the fustiness of the old days. Offers must be made directly to the students but it should be considered that the diversity of terms can easily lead to a Babel of confusion. Moreover, all those involved should coordinate their activities and information along a broad front. This is no easy task but then an easy victory isn't a victory at all!
