摘要

An agency looking into the sinking of the Alaska Ranger held an unannounced, private hearing in Seattle in December to interview officials of the company that owned the vessel. The National Transportation Safety Board is not required to announce or open their hearings to the public, according to Liam LaRue, an NTSB official at the closed Seattle hearing. He also sits on the Coast Guard's Marine Board of Investigation, which is probing the sinking as well. The Ranger sank on Easter Sunday, March 22, northwest of Dutch Harbor. Five men died.
