Congenital syphilis (CS) presents with a variety of clinical manifestations, including haematological abnormalities. The haematological abnormalities of early CS are variable and non-specific, and can mimic several haematological diseases of infancy. Two infants aged 3 and 7 months who presented with CS and haematological abnormalities are reported. With the worldwide increase of this disease, it is important that paediatricians consider congenital syphilis early in the differential diagnosis of infants presenting with unexplained haematological abnormalities or suspected malignancy.
