August start-up for new hydroprocessor

Allied Energy's new hydrotreater at its Birmingham, Alabama refinery will be complete by August according to contractor DuPont, which is supplying its IsoTherm-ing~R hydroprocessing technology for the ultra-low diesel (ULSD) project. IsoTherm-ing employs a novel reactor system that uses hydrogen and catalyst more efficiently, leading to lower capital and operating costs while significantly reducing sulphur content in motor fuels, according to DuPont.
