After heart disease, which is responsible for 26 of every 100 deaths in Western countries cancer is the second leading cause responsible for 22.8 of every 100 deaths. Cerebro-vascular disease, the third cause, contributes 5.6 deaths of every 100 [1]. We are at the veil of a turnover since, according to the latest IARC World Cancer Report, by year 2010 cancer is expected to become the leading cause of death.
