摘要

Structures of the inactive and activated forms of the receiver domain of PhoB reported in this issue of Structure (Bachhawat et al., 2005) suggest that the OmpR/PhoB subclass of transcription factors becomes active by dimerization about a symmetric axis utilizing the alpha 4-beta 5-alpha 5 surface.
