Do you compute? Not everyone does

IF any time during the last decade you had asked me about it, I would have speculated that computer usage on farms would go up with ever year. Computer usage by farmers across the U.S. does continue to expand overall, but it is not an ironclad rule and it is not the case consistently in every state. In 2011,65% of farms across the country have access to computers, according to Farm Computer Usage, a report released in August from USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. That compares to 64% in 2009, which was the same as in 2007. Sixty-three percent of farms either own or will lease their computers this year, compared to 61 % in 2009 and 60% in 2007.
