摘要

Given the global financial crisis that grips most countries in the world, with the attendant job losses, job insecurities, financial worries, pension deficits and the like, the health and well-being of individuals and families are severely at risk. We are likely to see many more examples of stress-related illnesses, adverse occupational health outcomes (perhaps less absenteeism but more presenteeism, leading to increasing levels of burnout), more negative epidemiological indicators in the context of public health outcomes and a range of intervention strategies to help those most at risk. Stress and Health is strongly positioned to explore the issues that will arise during this next year or two, as most of us live through one of the worst economic recessions of the last 50 years.
