Manufacturing of Two-colored Co-sintered Zirconia Components by Inmold-labelling and 2C-Injection Molding

With its excellent mechanical properties TZP (tetragonal stabilized zirconia) is interesting for many technical applications and consumer products. The fine, chemically derived powder can be sintered to full density. This allows manufacturing of surface qualities from matt to shiny or mirror-like, which appear exceptional brilliant due to the high refraction index. The pleasant haptic impression (cool but not cold) of the material stands out because of the low heat conductivity. All these characteristics provide great potential for TZP to be used for high-value luxury products in the watch and jewelry industry [1, 2].
