摘要

Literature data and our experimental resultsobtained in the studies on crack kinetics in three-dimensionalpolymethyl methacrylate speciments with an inner cavity made invarious shapes over a wide range of loading rates are summarized.Crack initiation and steady propagation velocities as well asenergy spent for fracture are found to increas nonlinearly, and thedelay time of crack initiation decreases with the rate of internalcavity loading.
