New timber industry forum

The timber products sector is forming a - new representative body to counter the challenge posed by alternative materials in the construction industry and other sectors. The inaugural meeting of the Timber Marketing, Forum (TMF) is scheduled for 22~(nd) June in Johannesburg and will be attended by leaders from the various sub-sectors of the timber industry. Participating associations at this stage include Sawmilling SA, the Institute for Timber Construction, SA Wood Preservers' Association, Timber Frame Builders' Association, SA Utility Pole Association, Thatchers' Association of SA and Forestry SA.
