Research focused on zebra chip disease continues to expand within the process potato industry. One area that has generated attention is the diseases late season impact during storage.Texas A&M AgriLife Research and USDA-ARS scientists have started a project to find its effects at the end of the season and create management practices to control the disease before harvest.Charlie Rush, a Regents Fellow and professor of plant pathology at the Texas A&M AgriLifeResearch and Extension Center at Amarillo is leading the project. Rush has been researching the disease for about six years and studying late season effects for the past two. He knew there were important implications with the project, especially in timing of late-season fungicide applications.
