摘要

Major goal of the concept of integrative design with ceramics is the development of an iterative optimization strategy and the effective implementation of FEM based results and empiric knowledge for computer-aided design of functional units with ceramic components. Furthermore new design elements are established and connected to built up an application, material, joining and manufacturing orientated design model including the decision criteria: material alternatives for ceramic and non-ceramic components, loading alternatives (force, heat and mass flow), joining alternatives (material, form and force fit) and manufacturing alternatives (component properties and residual stresses). Thus disadvantageous superposition of loading, joining and residual stresses should be prevented in order to improve reliability and economic efficiency. Based on the above concept a new tool for structural multi-criteria optimization of functional units with ceramic components has been developed. MatLab was used as a programming environment which allows selecting optimization strategy, algorithms and analysis model. Basics of algorithms are briefly summarized. The general purpose FEA solver ABAQUS and CARES/Life for reliability analysis are linked together and implemented in the optimization toolbox solving sizing as well as shape optimization tasks with ceramic and non-ceramic components. A cylindrical tube ceramic/metal braze joint as a lap and butt version is selected as a case study part to demonstrate the capabilities of the above concept.
